WILSON is also a sept of the Clan Gunn and Clan Innes
NOTES:
WILSON is one of those surnames such as Smith and Jones that is common in Scotland and England. It dosen't seem to appear in the Clan records at the Registry of the Lord Lyon King of Arms. However at least one of the Wilson lines were one of the founding weavers of the tartans. This Wilson created a unique tartan for his wife. Today there are at least one hundred and eight [108] different tartans listed with the "House of Tartans" in Scotland related to however many [?] different Wilson lines. I do know that our line of Wilson is Scottish, which narrows the field somewhat - as opposed to Irish, Welsh and English.
The Hendersons and Williamsons and WILSONs of Caithness are said to be descended from Henry and William, George GUNN, the Crowner's two younger sons.
My Wilson line is very complicated as it comes from two divergent lines. My g-grandmother Effie Naomi Wilson and my ggg-grandmother Elizabeth Wilson [unk parents and siblings to date].
