The Fort Cimarron Historical Preservation Society is deticated to the preservation of the history of north central Oklahoma and southern Kansas. Specifically the area which entailed the Cherokee Strip and Cherokee Outlet. We will make every effort to interpret the Old West in as accurate manner as possiable. The Society will continue to conduct historical research in an effort to clarify the history of the Old West.
The Society offers an oppurtunity for members of the public to learn about the Old West by becoming a volunteer interpreter. Under the Indian Territory Wild West Shows, LLC the parent company, they will have several types of volunteer positions available, besides the interpretors in the society.
Members of the Society in good standing, with their membership card and in period dress, can get into ITWWS, LLC functions free. Recieve a copy of the monthly newsletter. Free admission to the annual Picnic/bar-b-que. When we get Fort Cimarron and the Southern Plains Living History Museum built, Members in good standing and in period dress will be allowed into all the museum areas free. Where they will appears as volunteer interpreters. For free passage into all areas of the Museum, the card holder must be a member in good standing with dues paid.
Charter membership is the building blocks of the Society. The CHarter Members will recieve a special certificate. Recognition as Charter Member during annual picnic/bar-b-que, etc. In addition all other benefits of general membership apply. The first fifteen members will hold Charter Membership status and will hold the Society office for the first year or until the next annual election. After a new slat of officers will be elected during the annual general membership meeting.
