As I mentioned, the line below is indicated as a secondary surname because so many HOWARD's of the line listed below have married into the SWAFFORD line.
Current research does not show a direct connection or relationship between Rennie HOWARD wife of Peter James SWAFFORD, and matriarch of the SWAFFORD family and the line listed below.
Notes on Rennie HOWARD: Records indicate that Rennie was born in Dublin, Ireland date unknown at present. Therefore the HOWARD's have a direct claim to the Sept [Clan] HOWARD Shield showen above. I do believe the HOWARDs listed below will be able to claim this right also. I have also found evidence that the HOWARD's owned land in Ireland and will be posting this info shortly.

Note for my mother to deliver to my bond upon the making over the land to my brothers & appoint Mary my wife as sole exrecutrix allowing my last will and testment.
Joahanna Howard against Mary Howard, extx of Alexander Howard deceased, Joahanna Howard recovered against the Extx. for damages by reason of not performing a certain covenant in his life time with the said Joahanna Howard. The Extx. was ordered to pay for Joahanna's cost in court and whatever the suit is for. [this was probably for land dealing with Joahanna's husband's estate and that of Alexander's father's]
