Clothing of the Old West

The common fabrics of the period were wool, cotton and linen. So most garments were made from these fabrics in some combination. When I was a young'un all our cloth's were hand made, from bought fabric. My brothers and my shirts as well as my sisters dress' were made from flour sacks. This was common on the frontier. My grandmother's told me that this is also the way it was when they were young'uns.
