The Confederate Navy Jack

THE

FLAG of the CONFEDERATE STATES of AMERICA

Due to the increased controversy over displaying the flag and it's meaning as perpetuated by a very vocal minority.

We are presenting on these pages a cosmology of the Flags of the Southern States in an effort to clarify the history and the meaning of the flag, that is associated with the South, and to establish our stand on the matter.

There are two issues at hand:

[1] The flag, as a historical symbol "of state rights" to the Southern States;
[2] and, is it or has it been a symbol of slavery.

Response:

It is not a symbol of slavery now nor in the past. It is NOT a symbol of HATE nor RACISM. It represents the; "rights of the southern states to determine their own future; economic and political; in accordance with the Constitution." The constitution was originally drafted by the thirteen colonies giving each and everyone of the colonies [states] the right to ced [the act of cessation] from the union if they felt their rights were violated.

Stand:

We do recognize everyones right to free speech. We oppose anyone or any organization that represents the flag in any fashion other than a historical symbol of the rights of the southern states. We also, do not recognize; in the name of "political correctness and general politics" the right to defame or slander our flag.

Historical:

Confederate Army Battle Flag

The flag that is commonly reffered to as the Confederate Flag, or is mistakenly recognized as the flag of the Confederate Army. Was in fact; is the Confederate Navy Jack.

The Navy Jack, commonly called the Southern Cross

The National Confederate Flag of the "Confederate States of America," was in fact the "The National Flag of the Confederate States of America." There were three versions of the National flag;

First National flag, CSA

Second National flag, CSA

Third National Flag, CSA

The original seven states [N. Carlolina, S. Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Tennessee] who in concert signed the papers of cessation. Please note: The papers of cessation were legal and submitted in accordance with the U.S. Constitution. As all the original states had agreed upon. In violation of the U. S. Constitution the northern states invaded these above named southern states.

South Carolina was the first state to file papers of cesstion. South Carolina flew the the flag of cesstion over South Carolina.

The South Carolina Secession Flag - The symbol of secession

We, who are from the original Southern States consider ourselves an occupied country. As if we were a defeated nation such as Germany or Japan; occupied by a foriegn power. After the surrender at Appamatox Court House, the South was again invaded. This time with "carpetbaggers.' Indivduals who were con-artists get rich quick swindlers and other such northern trash. The ironic part was that they had the blessings of the Northern government.

It is our considered opinion that those who oppose the display of the Confederate flag are not Southerners or if they live in the South; they do so as an occupying force.

Our stand therefore is that: the flag should be flown in any of the locations that are under controversy and it is none of the business of the vocal minority as to where it is flown.
